GGG vs Derevyanchenko: Road to Canelo?

On October 5th former unified middleweight king Gennady Golovkin will face off against contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko for the IBF world middleweight championship at Madison Square Garden in NY. The fight will be presented live via DAZN.

This fight will catapult the winner to the top of the middleweight division and place them in a position to challenge new middleweight king Canelo Alvarez. Golovkin and Derevyanchenko will be fighting for the Vacant IBF belt which was stripped from Canelo.

Golovkin feels he won both fights against Canelo which the first fight ended in a controversial draw and the second fight ended with Canelo’s hand raised after going to the scorecards. Derevyanchenko’s only loss came at the hands of Daniel Jacobs when he challenged for a title and lost via split decision. He is getting another chance to prove he is among the elite of the division.

the stakes are high for these two middleweights, who will have their hands raised and on the fast track to the top of the division? tune in on October 5th on DAZN and find out.
