The man who dethroned the man, Andy Ruiz Jr. (33-1, 22KOs) , the first heavyweight champion of Mexican descent, will prove he is a force to be reckoned with and not a farce when he looks to keep the titles taken from one time heavyweight king Anthony Joshua (22-1, 21KOs) . These two will square off for the second time on December 7th 2019 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia and will be presented live on DAZN.
These two met back in June. Andy Ruiz was a fill in for Jarell “Big Baby” Miller who had to pull out of the fight due to positive VADA testing results. This fight turned out to be a modern Rocky story. Ruiz an unknown fill in stepping up to face British superstar Joshua and was expected be an easy win for Joshua. This bout ended up becoming the upset of the year when Andy Ruiz floored Joshua not once, or twice but four times in their first outing eventually getting the stoppage victory. Ruiz may not look nowhere near as fit as Joshua as well as being significantly shorter. Ruiz shocked the world with fast hands, high work output and great upper body movement. Ruiz defensively got on the inside and countered from there with punches in bunches constantly putting the pressure on. Ruiz is a technically sound boxer with fast hands, great stamina and heavy handed power.
Joshua may have underestimated his opponent back in June but he will be all business the second time around. Joshua will be stepping into the ring this time, knowing more about what he is up against . Sometimes a fighter needs a loss to humble him and force him to go beyond a plateau. This loss may rededicate Joshua to the sport and teach him an important lesson about underestimation. Joshua will be more prepared this time around and will be fighting ferociously to get back what was once his.
Tune in on the DAZN and find out if we will see a repeat or a reclamation in this rematch.
