Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev: Light Heavyweight Unification in Philly

WBC light heavyweight champion Oleksandr “The Nail” Gvozdyk and IBF light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev will put their belts and undefeated records on the line when the meet in Philadelphia on October 18th at the Liacouras Center. They both look to take the other’s belt and “0”.

Gvozdyk (17-0, 14KOs) will be making the second defense of his WBC title which is won from long time light heavyweight king Adonis “Superman” Stevenson. A fight which ended in a devastating 11th round KO which put Stevenson in a coma. Stevenson as since then been on the road to recovery from the brain injuries sustained in that fight. Gvozdyk followed up the Stevenson win with another stoppage victory this time in the fifth round over Doudou Ngumbu.

Beterbiev (14-0, 14KOs) is the only current world champion who totes a 100% KO ratio. His two title defenses lasted a total of 9 rounds. These two fighters will be doing everything they can to keep their belts and undefeated records intact and in their possession. This fight has all the makings of being a “
fight of the year” candidate!
