Hard hitting heavyweights will be throwing bombs in Brooklyn has WBC heavyweight king Deontay Wilder (40-0-1, 39KOs) will face off against mandatory challenger, Dominic Breazeale (20-1, 18KOs) on May 18th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn NY. This card is presented by PBC and will be broadcasted live by SHOWTIME.
Breazeale and Wilder both stand at 6’7 with wilder having an 1nch and a half reach advantage while Breazeale is about 20+lbs heavier. Both fighters are KO artists with high KO percentages. These titans are coming to Brooklyn to do damage and chances are one will be tasting canvas while the other will have his hand raised in victory.
Wilder is an exciting fighter to watch and where he may lack in skill he gains in pure fighter spirit and shear power. When Wilder connects that right hand 99% of the time its lights out. Wilder puts everything in the ring and has no problem going in the for the kill once he sees blood! Wilder has proven time and time again to be victorious by any means necessary. His last fight with Tyson Fury ended in a draw but “Bombsquad” Wilder still managed to put Fury down with a shot in the later rounds although Fury was able to rise to his feet and beat the count. Wilder likes being crowned king and doesn’t seem to be budging from his spot anytime soon.
Breazeale’s only loss is against British heavyweight king Anthony Joshua via 7th round stoppage back in 2016. Breazeale has placed himself in position to challenge for the WBC title by winning his last 3 fight by KO. Breazeale looks to gain Deontay’s title and eventually avenge his only loss against Joshua.
Bombs will explode come fight night in Brooklyn. These two heavy hitting heavyweights have the power to make it a short night and they will both be coming out of their corners gunning! Tune in on May 18th on Showtime or head over to the Barclays, you would not want to miss these two titans going to war!
