“Irish” Seanie Monaghan (29-1 17KOs) will take on Former WBC International Light Heavyweight Champion Sullivan Barrera (21-2 14KOs) in a battle for redemption at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn NY Saturday November 3rd. This fight was previously scheduled for August 18th but was put on the backburner due to in eye injury suffered by Barrera. These two top light heavyweight fighters look to redeem themselves with a win putting the victor in a possible position to challenge for a world title.
Barrera has held the WBC international Light Heavyweight Title which he acquired defeating Joe Smith Jr. (24-2 20KOs) via unanimous decision. Barrera has also challenged for the WBA World Light Heavyweight title but fell short via 12 round stoppage against Dmitry Bivol (14-0 11KOs).
Monaghan looks to continue redeeming himself from his only loss in 30 fights, when he was defeated by Marcus Browne (22-0 16KOs) via 2nd round stoppage back in July 15 of 2017 at the Nassau Coliseum. After his loss with Browne, Monaghan took a step in the right direction for redemption by racking up a win via unanimous decision against Evert Bravo (23-9-1 18KOs)
