Hurd vs Santana: Co-Main at Barclays

Former unified super welterweight champ “Swift” Jarrett Hurd (23-1, 16KOs) will be making his return to battle it out at Barclays Center in Brooklyn against Francisco “Chia” Santana (25-7-1, 12KOs) . This fight is the co-feature of Danny Garcia vs Ivan Redkach and will be presented live on Showtime, Saturday, January 25th via PBC.

Hurd is the former WBA and IBF 154lb champ. He looks to get back up, dust him self off and prove he can still be king of the division since losing his belts via a decision against Julian Williams in in what was one of the best fights in 2019. Hurd has notable wins against Frank Galarza, Oscar Molina, Tony Harrison, Austin Trout and Erislandy Lara. Hurd was quoted saying ” Just because I fell back doesn’t mean I fell off”. Hurd looks to get back to the top and Santana is the stepping stone back up to that position.

Santana is a tough contender who has faced the toughest of challenges from 147lb to 154lb. Santana has shared the ring with Abel Ramos, Felix Diaz, Jermell Charlo, Julian Williams and Sadam Ali. Santana bring experience to the ring and looks to prove that his hardwork and experience will pay off and will eventually move him out of the position of contender to title holder. A win against Hurd will put him one step closer to that transition.

Both these fighters have a lot to prove and it will translate into a great fight in the ring. Do not miss out on this great night of fights!
